December Banquet Serves Old and New

The December meeting saw 26 happy members and visitors chowing down at Kearny's Restaurant in Kearny Mesa.

Some members drove a long way for a free lunch. Muffin Steelman of Continental Electronics visited from Fresno, Ed Longcrier of Harris Radio RF came from Los Angeles. Bob Gonsett drove from Fallbrook, and Jack Williams and Bill Hopkins visited from Pacific Research & Engineering in Carlsbad.

Also notable were two new member applicants who attended. Indy Ortiz and Lea Bowen of Palomar College brought SBE membership applications, the first student members in the chapter. Lea volunteered to help with education liaison, including scholarship and March Student Night publicity on local campuses.

David Potick of San Diego State University renewed membership in part for the occasion. And David Grimes attended his first meeting at the San Diego Chapter since arriving from the Inland Empire.
