January 1999 Meeting

Pacific Research & Engineering in Carlsbad to Host

by Gary Stigall, CSTE
Chapter Chairman WA7RGQ

In spite of their national leadership position among broadcast mixer and systems vendors, Pacific Research & Engineering has never forgotten their southern Californian roots, and remains supportive of San Diego broadcasters. PR&E hosts the Chapter 36 meeting at their plant at 2070 Las Palmas Dr. near the Palomar Airport in Carlsbad. They'll show the technical design and discuss applications of the Airwave Digital Console. They'll demonstrate their Quik-Bilt II, a second generation line of ready-to-assemble studio furniture. And you'll meet Don Naab, the new company president.

Join us January 20 at 6:00 p.m. for a social hour with snacks. Regular meeting is at 7:00 p.m. A light agenda includes plans for a special Student Night Meeting proposed for early April.

Directions: From I-5, take the PALOMAR AIRPORT RD. and go east 2.5 miles to CAMINO VIDA ROBLE. Turn right and go to LAS PALMAS DR. PR&E is on the corner. If coming from San Diego, allow time to pass through the bottleneck at the I-5/805 merge.

From SR 78 in San Marcos, take the SAN MARCOS BLVD exit. Turn LEFT onto W SAN MARCOS BLVD. W SAN MARCOS BLVD becomes PALOMAR AIRPORT RD. after 3.25 miles. Turn LEFT onto EL CAMINO REAL after 2 miles. After .75 miles, turn RIGHT onto CAMINO VIDA ROBLE. Turn LEFT onto LAS PALMAS DR and go down the hill to 2070.
