New Sponsor

Western Radio Electronics Joins SBE

By Gary Stigall, CSTE
Chapter 36 Chairman

Our latest sponsor is an old friend. Western Radio Electronics is the place in San Diego most associated with the solution to the problem, "Uh, oh--ran out of wire." Or connectors. Or whatever. At KFMB, we've found that they have a decent supply of gel cells for those little UPS units. We go through reel after reel of stocked Belden cable, too.

Marketing Manager Bruce Semelsberger has been involved with local distribution in San Diego since 1969, almost twenty years of that with Western Radio at three different locations.

Bruce says, "Western Radio Electronics was founded in San Diego in 1932 - when all of the electronics part numbers existing could fit under one roof. The company sold widely to the local radio industry, including hams and the Navy. When television arrived, Western Radio sold vidicons and RCA transmitter parts, among other items. In 1999, Western Radio brought new G.M. Jim Dujowich aboard to oversee the expansion of the cable and connector business which forms out core offering to the present broadcast industry, along with new inventory in the rack and test areas."

"New General Manager Jim Dujowich has set standards of excellence for Western Radio Electronics Inc. which are the following: Customer Service, Product Knowledge, & Competitive Pricing.

"All of us at Western Radio would like to invite you in to our store at 5555 Kearny Villa Road and see the changes we've made.

"If you need directions or have any further questions please give us a call at (858) 268-4400, our Front Counter and Inside Sales Respresentatives (George, Mario, Darryl and Terry) will be glad to help you."

Thanks, Western, for your support of the chapter.
