April MeetingStudent Night 1999 By Gary Stigall, CSTE For our members and guests: This is not a regular meeting, but come if you'd like to offer an internship at your workplace or talk about your own career. Interested in a possible technical career in broadcasting? The San Diego Chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers is having a "Student Night" Open House to discuss broadcast engineering, local and national scholarships, and internships. We hope to answer your questions and will give a tour of the KFMB radio and television facilities. SBE Chapter 36 is offering for the first time a local scholarship to students in technical majors who have a demonstrated interest in broadcasting. Nationally, the Society offers the Harold Ennes Memorial Scholarship. Student Night is Wednesday, April 14, at 7:30 PM at KFMB Studios, 7677 Engineer Road in Kearny Mesa. Rumor has it there will be an appearance by chocolate chip cookies. For more information, contact Chairman Gary Stigall at KFMB-TV. | |||
